Baby Room
We accomodate for babies from the age of 6 weeks to 23 months. The staff ratio for this age group is 1:3 and there are 4 members of staff working in this room.
Each month baby room follow a theme and activities are planned around this topic in conjuction for free play, Plans are displayed outside the room and a copy can be obtained on request.
Outdoor play will also play a major part in the daily routine of babies, as the garden is well equipped for our younger children
The room supervisor is fully qualified to NVQ level 3 equivalent
Toddler Room
The toddler room caters for children aged 23 months - 2 years 9 months. The staff ratio for this age group is 1:4 and there are 3-4 members of staff working in this room. There are always lots of planned learning opportunites within our toddler room and we ensure learning is connected through topic play. Each month the toddler room focuses on a different topic which enables the childrens social & emotional, intellectual, physical and language skills to be developed.
The monthly overview for learning for play will always be displayed in the main entrance hall or you can request a copy.
There is always lots of messy play in the room. including play dough, painting, sand and water play and simple cooking activities, Tabletop activities are also provided such as jigsaws, small world toys and games to develop hand-eye co-ordination, colour recognition, fine motor skills, social skills and language development. Outdoor play will also play a major part in the daily routine of toddlers
The room supervisor is fully qualified to NVQ level 3 equivalent
Pre School Room
By the age of 2 years 9 months, children are ready to progress to our pre-school room. Again this is done on a gradual basis and is only done when the child is ready.
The staff ratio in this room is 1:8 for over 3 years and 1:4 for under 3 years.
The day provides for free play, group activities and planned learning experiences. All activities in the pre-school room are planned on a monthly basis and adhere to the recommendations for pre-school education.
All equipment in the pre-school room is easily accessible to the children and they are encouraged to investigate, find out things for themselves, be independent and share the use of equipment. The pre-school room also has the use of the messy play room, where they can paint and play in the sand and water.
Outdoor play will also play a large part in the daily routine of pre school children
What we need from you
We do ask parents to provide forumla milk, cot sheet, nappies, wipes and nappy cream (if necessary); this is simply due to individual preference.
We ask that parents provide sheets and blankets for the child. These will be left on the childs peg on their last day of the week and we request you bring this home and return a clean sheet for the week commencing.
If your child has a particular teddy or 'comfort blanket' we recommend this is brought in
What we provide
The nursery will provide everything else your baby will need: Cotton wool, home made meals, drinks snacks etc. We have a seperate cot room where the younger children can sleep according to their individual routine
